second hand research, that somebody else has collected.

individuals being involved in observations.
non-participants
individuals being observed from a distance.
covert
individuals know that they are going to be observed but don’t know when it’s going to happen.
overt
individuals know when an observation is going to happen and what time it will take place.
triangulation
the use of more than one primary method of research.
action research
solving a problem in your own setting or practice.
