○ Chronic, relapsing abdominal pain, bloating and changes in bowel habits
○ Gross and microscopic changes are minimaal and hence must be diagnosed on clinical symptoms

A

Typically occurs the colon in a continuous fashion and is a transmural inflammation of the gut wall

A
  • Is typically seen in the last proportion of the Duodenum and the proximal jejunum where the highest concentration of food is located
  • Histologically the affected areas have villous atrophy, cyrpt hyperplasia and intraepithelial infiltration
