- Keen power of observation
- Verbal proficiency. moreso than manual.
- Questioning attitude
- Power of critical thinking. want to analyse everything.
- Independence in work and family. If they are interested in it they will investigate it on their own. They dont wait for assignment.
- Ability to learn quickly and retain information.

The gigantic leaning tree (Gifted Learner) was a GENTLEMAN (diverGENT learner) covered in HERBS (VERBAL proficiency) that weighed a TON (questioning attitude) and could KNIT (CRITical thinking) a pigpen (independent in work etc.) that YEARNed (LEARN quickly and retain easily) to be free.

- In contrast to a “convergent learner” who learns from a “small fact/idea” and builds on it until he gets to the “big results”, a DIVERGENT LEARNER takes a central fact and moves creatively beyond the facts basic meaning.
- Moves way beyond what the teacher is trying to teacher. Think out the box. Like popcorn popping.
- He asks “what if?” instead of “what is?”. He uses his imagination to try to see what could happen to an idea in different types of enviroinments and circumstances.
