What OTC to give to someone with non-inflammatory diarrhea
Bismuth and Immodium (max 48 hrs)
except for kids and pregnant women (Imodium is fine)
What do you recommend OTC inflammatory diarrhea?
nothing
can’t give Diphenoxylate (lomotil) or Bismuth (Pepto) in inflammatory diarrhea
can’t give Loperamide (Imodium) in inflammatory diarrhea
When do you give rx to inflammatory diarrhea?
if diarrhea is inflammatory or if they are prolonged diarrhea more than 2 weeks
