English has had instrumental power over Ghana, which has lead to many Ghanaians perceiving English – especially the RP form as the NORM.
Now, however there has been a change: Many Ghanaians are showing Identity and Pride by using their own variation of English - Ghanaian English.

This had led to them, accepting their varieties and realising that language is power.

A

Many Ghanaians are seeking acceptance of their own identities outside of their country such as African American artists, this has inspired them to create their own music in their variety of English.
