What is view number 1 that is being presented about what is happening to the globalization of English in post-colonial countries?
English has had instrumental power over Ghana, which has lead to many Ghanaians perceiving English – especially the RP form as the NORM.
Now, however there has been a change: Many Ghanaians are showing Identity and Pride by using their own variation of English - Ghanaian English.
Examples within the first view?
Examples of famous Africans using their own variety of English are Nelson Mandela (South African English) and Kofi (Ghanaian English)
What is view number 2 that is being presented about what is happening to the globalization of English in post-colonial countries?
For many Ghanaians, English has been associated with intelligence, however it is now the case that intelligibility and language are not coherent.
This had led to them, accepting their varieties and realising that language is power.

What has led to this acceptance?
Technology, Music, Films and Education.
Many Ghanaians are seeking acceptance of their own identities outside of their country such as African American artists, this has inspired them to create their own music in their variety of English.
What can we evaluate from this?
We can take Ghana and use as an example of how many countries are taking pride and using their own forms of Englishes. We can use Ghana as an example of how English has influenced post-colonial countries to perceive English as superior to their native tongue
