to help to finalise agreements due to the amount of power that it has, in addition, this the world banks speaks for every country meaning that it is the views of all of the political powers that could be used to make a given decision.

A

to help intervene in certain conflicts, where there is a needed for resources to be brought in.
- can only have a certain effects compared to larger nations, due to only a small collection of countries
- not an army but can call on the state for weapons

what are NGO’s
(they help not threaten)

A

they are non- government organisations, that use money that funded in ways other than the government in order to go and support local people.
- example of this would be Oxfam or the red cross appeal.
- (remember they done intervene as much as larger operations like the EU or NATO, due to small significance and funding

what is the role of the UN

A

the united nations have a say in declaring new states
- they can send peacekeepers (blue helmets) into areas to go and offer help and support
- they will only go into a country without permission if there is violation of human rights
- remember that France, China, USA, UK and Russia have the ability to veto
