Hood head
West side of hood canal on north end is almost an island with a narrow strip of land connecting to shore. 220ft, steep and wooded
Pt. Hannon
On west side of hood head. Is marked by a light. Low Sandy spit with shoal water extends 200yds east of the light
Port gamble bay
On east shore of hood canal. Is 2nm long with narrow entrance. The channel is marked by lighted buoys and lights
Hood canal bridge
A pontoon highway bridge crossing the canal between termination pt and salsbury pt. 2 fixed openings in east and west side with 600ft center pontoon which can open for larger vsls
Termination pt.
West side of hood canal just south of the bridge . Has a light transformer substation.
Squamish Hrb
An open bight SW of Termination pt. Case shoal is on west shore which is partly bare at low water and is marked by a light
Thorndyke bay
Small bight in west side on west side I’d hood canal 4nm south of Squamish Hrb. Emergency explosives anchorage just south of the bay
Bangor wharf
East side of hood canal across from browns pt. Wharfs are surrounded by a floating security barrier marked by flashing yellow buoys. A 500ft radio tower marked by red aircraft lights is prominent
Hazel pt
SE extremity of Toandos Peninsula. Is the turning point where the canal bends sharply from south to southwest. Heavily wooded with some houses.
Fisherman Hrb
Is a cove on the end of Toandos peninsula just east of oak head. Very narrow with a constricted entrance which is practically bare at low water. Sand spit extends partly across entrance from west shore
Toandos peninsula
Runs N/S in hood canal approx 8nm long and separates Dabob bay from hood canal
Seabeck
. Is a settlement and resort at the head of seabeck bay. Has a marina protected by a breakwater awash at high water marked by private lights.
Misery pt.
Wooded pt with a Shoal extends 200yds off point. A light is 300yds NE of the point and a fish haven is close NW of the light
Pleasant Hrb
Small cove on the west shore of hood canal. 3nm west of misery pt. It is about 300yds wide and has a narrow shallow entrance
Brinnon
Is a village at the west entrance to Dabob Bay. Has a general store and service station. Log booming ground is close offshore
