Bangor wharf

East side of hood canal across from browns pt. Wharfs are surrounded by a floating security barrier marked by flashing yellow buoys. A 500ft radio tower marked by red aircraft lights is prominent

SE extremity of Toandos Peninsula. Is the turning point where the canal bends sharply from south to southwest. Heavily wooded with some houses.

Fisherman Hrb

A

Is a cove on the end of Toandos peninsula just east of oak head. Very narrow with a constricted entrance which is practically bare at low water. Sand spit extends partly across entrance from west shore

Brinnon

A

Is a village at the west entrance to Dabob Bay. Has a general store and service station. Log booming ground is close offshore

Dabob bay

A

Largest inlet in the canal and is separated by Toandos Peninsula. Extends 9nm in a N/S direction. West shore is particularly steep and bold reaching an elevation of 2600’ in less than 2nm from shore.

Bolton peninsula

A

Separates Quilcene bay from Dabob bay. Approx 3nm long. Marked by a light on SW extremity.

Quilcene bay

A

Small inlet on the west side of Dabob bay. A light marks the east entrance. North half of bay is filled with flats which bare. An oyster farm is on eases side of bay just inside entrance is marked by rafts, lights and mooring buoys. Quilcene is a small town on the west of the bay has hotels, restaurants and stores.
