Security zone anchorage
10-25f mud and sand bottom. Anchorage is circular in shape with 1000yd diameter. Used by navy for magnetic silencing of ships and submarines
Emergency explosives anchorage
Thorndyke bay, 10-40f, mud and sand bottom. Is rectangular in shape. 1000ydx1350yds in a E/W orientation.
1. Need permission from COPT to anchor
2. Need permission from COPT to anchor for more than 30days
3. Reserved for vsls carrying explosives
4. Must display red flag during day and red light at night
5. Must have competent watchman or tug standing by
6. Fishing pleasure and commercial boats prohibited in the area when vsls are anchored to load/unload explosives
Port gamble
24-54ft deep with muddy bottom. Excellent anchorage in the bay
Squamish Hrb
6fa deep with muddy bottom. Tug frequently anchor near the head of the bay
Sea beck bay
35-50ft deep with sand and shell bottom. Good anchorage well protected from SE and Sw Wx
Pleasant Hrb
36ft deep with mud bottom with good protection from all directions
Quilcene bay
30-60ft deep with mud and shell bottom. Good protection from all directions except south weather
Hood canal bridge
No anchoring within 500yds north and south of bridge to avoid anchor cables from bridge
