Security zone anchorage

A

10-25f mud and sand bottom. Anchorage is circular in shape with 1000yd diameter. Used by navy for magnetic silencing of ships and submarines

Emergency explosives anchorage

A

Thorndyke bay, 10-40f, mud and sand bottom. Is rectangular in shape. 1000ydx1350yds in a E/W orientation.
1. Need permission from COPT to anchor
2. Need permission from COPT to anchor for more than 30days
3. Reserved for vsls carrying explosives
4. Must display red flag during day and red light at night
5. Must have competent watchman or tug standing by
6. Fishing pleasure and commercial boats prohibited in the area when vsls are anchored to load/unload explosives

A

24-54ft deep with muddy bottom. Excellent anchorage in the bay
