- Anterior border: midline of neck
- Superior border: lower border of the body of the mandible and a line from angle of mandible to mastoid process
- Posterio-inferior border: anterior margin of SCM and jugular notch

- Antero-superior border: union of SCM and trapezius muscles is apex, anterior border is posterior margin of SCM
