For what reasons may an aircraft divert?
A
- Weather at planned destination is below their minima
- Obstructions on the landing area, which consitute a hazard to landing aircraft, cannot be cleared in a reasonable period
- Failure of airborne equipment
- Failure of essential ground aids to landing in circumstances which would require their use
- Unacceptable delay due to congestion of air traffic
- Closure of the aerodrome of destination

What should ATCOs do when pilots originate the diversion?
A
- Advise the original destination / aerdrome nearest original destination

What should an ATCO do when a Military aircraft diverts?
A
Pass all info to D&D

What should ATCOs do for diversions to RAF aerodromes?
A
- Except in an emergency, aircraft shall not be diverted to an RAF / USAF aerodrome without the prior approval of D&D
