For what reasons may an aircraft divert?

A
  • Weather at planned destination is below their minima
  • Obstructions on the landing area, which consitute a hazard to landing aircraft, cannot be cleared in a reasonable period
  • Failure of airborne equipment
  • Failure of essential ground aids to landing in circumstances which would require their use
  • Unacceptable delay due to congestion of air traffic
  • Closure of the aerodrome of destination
