Q

How do Safety & Expedition factor in?

A
  • An ATS should be based upon expedition consistent with safety.
  • Deviation from basic procedures in order to expediate traffic should be carefully considered against the extent of co-ordination required & attendant risk of error.
  • The ATCO should only deviate from basic procedures when this can be carried out without excessive workload & detriment to safety.
