What signs are present in early development?
Painful breasts
Nodularity
What can be seen during involution?
Cysts
Duct ectasia
Epithelial hyperplasia
What are criteria for a hospital referral?
New discrete lump
Blood stained nipple discharge or persistent discharge, recent nipple retraction / distortion
Changes in breast contour
Nipple eczema
Persistent asymetrical nodularity mastalgia
What’s the criteria for an urgent hospital referral?
Women with high risk of malignancy with features such as changes of breast contour, suspicious breast lump, blood stained nipple discharge Breast screening (50-70)
What is tertiary referral?
FHx of breast/ovarian cancer
