Prolapse of Stomach
*Palpate Illiac Crest and draw line on anterior stomach and if stomach drops below that line Gastropotosis
Causes for Gastropotosis
- Thin people - decreased fat and muscle
- Poor constitution and Chronic Condition
- Irregular Diet - st/sp middle jiao sinking
- multiple labours (weakens SP Qi)
Gastropotosis Signs and Symptoms
*Chronic epigastric pain Dizziness Fatigue Poor Appetite Bloating/Gas Nausea/Vomiting Belching Constipation or Diarrhea * milder conditions may not have any symptoms
How can you do western diagnosis for Gastroptosis?
- Palpate stomach for stomach artery and it’ll be strong and pounding
- X-Ray (Belcz)
Which syndromes should be differentiated from Gastroptosis?
1) Gastritis
2) Peptic Ulcer

1) Sinking of Qi in the Middle Jiao
2) Deficient cold of spleen a d stomach (yang Qi Deficency)
3) Deficency of stomach yin
Differentiate between Gastropotosis and Gastritis
