Avoid caffeinated and carbonated foods
Avoid spicy and acidic foods
Small frequent feedings (4-6 meals)
Avoid food 3hrs before going to bed
Standing, sitting, or high fowlers position after eating

Elevates gastric pH and deactivates pepsin

Side effects are constipation and diarrhea

Take antacid 1hr before and 2-3hrs after meals

Suppresses secretion of gastric acid by blocking histamine receptor sites

Inhibit gastric acid secretion by blocking enzymes associated with the 30-60 minutes before meals
