True through action with great drive covering ground well.
Cocker Spaniel
Free and graceful action, suggesting speed and endurance. Free movement of the hock showing powerful drive from hindquarters. Viewed from rear, hip, stifle and hock joints in line. Head naturally high.
English Setter
Strictly his own. Forelegs swing straight forward from shoulder, throwing feet well forward in an easy free manner. Hocks driving well under body, following in line with forelegs. At slow movement may have a pacing stride typical of this breed.
English Springer Spaniel
Well extended strides, with forceful propulsion from the hindquarters and adequate reach of the forelimbs. Front and hind legs moving straight and parallel. The dog is carrying himself in a proud attitude. Pacing gait is not desirable.
German Shorthaired Pointer
Powerful with good drive. Straight and true in front and rear. Stride long and free with no sign of hackney action in front.
Golden Retriever
Steady, free moving and true, with plenty of drive behind.
Gordon Setter
Smooth covering plenty of ground. Driving hind action, elbows neither in nor out. Definitely not a hackney action.
Pointer
Long free striding, effortless with drive.
Irish Red and White Setter
Quick movement with good extension and drive. Well-balanced on the trot. Front reach is free flowing, and in balance with the rear action. Should not be stilted or hackneyed. Pasterns should be strong but flexible on the move.
Murray River Retriever
Free flowing, driving movement with true action when viewed from front or rear, and in profile, showing perfect co-ordination.
Irish Setter
Walk is regular; trot is energetic and brisk, gallop for short periods.
Lagotto Romagnolo
Extended and fast trot, with powerful impulsion from the hindquarters. Head raised, nose held high in such a way that, when hunting, the nose is higher than the topline.
Bracco Italiano
Smooth, powerful, ground covering action; driving from rear.
Welsh Springer Spaniel
Movement in all gaits is ground covering and smooth. Hind and front legs set parallel to each other. Gallop long and flat. Back remains level when trotting. Pacing is undesirable.
Weimaraner
Covering lots of ground, with good reach and drive, parallel coming and going; with upstanding posture.
