What does it mean if a lameness is better on grass?
Paw
What do you palpate joint for?
Swelling, pain, instability, ROM, crepitus
How do you do the Ortolani test?
Sedate, put in dorsal recumbency, apply pressure towards the floor and move the stifle laterally then medially and you will feel the hip reduce then reluxate
How do you do the Bardens test?
See how much you can pull the femur out of the acetabulum
How do you do the thumb displacement test?
Place thumb in notch and externally rotate hip, will stay there if hip is dislocated
What does a patellar joint effusion look like on an xray?
Fat pad displaced cranially
How do you submit an arthrocentesis?
Make smear and submit in EDTA
Do you need sedation or GA for arthrocentesis?
Deep sedation or GA
