FWS Flashcards
why is an FWS needed?
there are so many potential failures across so many systems that a dedicated system is needed to organise and prioritise this information
Level A alert
warning
RED
red flashing light, continuous repetitive chime(CRC)
requires immediate crew awareness & immediate action
Level B alert
caution
AMBER
steady amber light, single chime
requires immediate crew awareness and WILL require subsequent crew action
Level C alert
advisory NOT RED- may be white cyan or amber no aural requires flight crew awareness and MAY require subsequent flight crew action for drifting parameters
notification of alert
visual- light, pushing light button can stop CRC
aural- CRC, synthetic voice
sensory- stick shaker
Altitude alert system
level B- buzzer, master caution light illuminates
alerts when you are approaching or drifting drifting away from a selected altitude
overspeed warning
level A
illuminates master warning light, CRC, overspeed message on ECAM/EICAS display
cant silence this one- will persist until no longer over-speeding
stall warning system
stall warning module:
inputs to module- AOA, flap position, slat position, ADC, thrust, IRS, air ground logic switch
outputs- stick shaker, stick pusher, master warning, aural warning , AOA gauge, EFIS
