ECAM/EICAS Flashcards
ECAM/EICAS
2 central displays giving info on: engine instruments configuration fuel status electronic checklists
ECAM- electronic centralised aircraft monitoring- airbus
EICAS- engine instrumentation and crew alerting system- Boeing

Info gathered from various system sources
By 2 SDAC
Info processed by 2 Flight Warning Computers (FWC)
FWC feed 3 Data Management Computers (DMC)
These generate images on the display units
can operate with failure of one SDAC and one FWC
vital components have a direct connection to the FWC
ECAM T/O config button
checks certain things are correct, if not it generates a warning: auto brake seatbelt signs on cabin crew system spoilers flaps
EICAS upper display unit
alert messages
primary engine data (EPR,N1,EGT)
EICAS lower display unit
secondary engine info N2 fuel flow oil vibration
EICAS system
Only one DCU in control, other in standby
When EICAS set to auto or both, standby DCU takes over automatically, in the event of failure
can select which computer is used with computer knob
EICAS operational mode
upper DU: primary engine instruments & warnings & cautions
lower DU: secondary engine instruments
EICAS status mode
lower DU: like system status display for ECAM
EICAS maintenance mode
used by engineering
