Traditional society- there was a rite of passage marking the move from adulthood to childhood . Youth culture has taken over rite of passage ceremony. Helps to ease transition between childhood and adulthood. It is functional as it get deviance out of the youths system so they can have a well organised & aspiring adulthood.
