What happens to a yeast cell when conditions are favourable?
A parent yeast cell develops a bud
What is a bud?
An outward bulge from the side of the parent cell
What happens after a parent yeast cell produces a bud?
The nucleus of the parent cell moves towards the bud
What happens when the nucleus of a parent cell moves towards the bud?
It divides in two by mitosis to create two nuclei
What happens after two nuclei have been made?
One moves into the bud and the other remains in the parent cell
What happens when a nuclei has entered a bud?
A cell wall forms between the parent cell and the bud to separate them from each other
What can happen during periods of rapid growth to the bud of a parent cell?
It may produce its own bud before it breaks away from the parent cell
