What gives the body its shape?
Skeletal bones gives the body is basic shape.
Give examples of what provides protection?
The skull provides the brain protection.
The ribs protect the Heart and lungs.
What attaches bones to each other?
Ligaments, tendons and muscles attach to bones to create stability and movement.
Give a brief explanation of how movement is created?
Muscles pull on long bones to contract the joints. Such as the Tibia and fibula are pulled backwards to contract the patella (Knee).
What can produce red and white blood cells?
Some bones can produce red blood cells to carry oxygen and white blood cells to fight infections from their marrow.
What do bones store?
Bones can store important minerals such as calcium and phosphorus which support growth and development.
