Can be in spreads, yoghurts and drinks

Some provide omega 3 which prevent heart disease

Breakfast cereals, cereal bars and bread
are fortified with vitamins and minerals which improve health

Fortified with antioxidants and some with caffeine

What are the advantages of functional foods?
Improves health and reduces risks of certain diseases
Allows customers to have control of health
What are the disadvantages of functional foods?
Have to eaten in a fairly large quantity for a long time to result in improvement
Can be expensive
