There are ​different sections​ to the back of the chair. This allows more flexibility and movement when sat on.This is clearly shown in silhouette of the back where we see a slight change in angle as we go towards the headrest

The sections of the chair ​make the chair stronger. The structure is less likely to split over time when being used as it is flexible in its segmentation.
There are shock mounted brackets on this section to help with the flexing.

The seat is tilted back slightly​ to help your lower spine​ and distribute the weight properly to the back of the chair. ​The lower cushion piece supports your lower back. The angle helps your chest so that you can be more comfortable​ as you do activities. This is clearly shown in the overall shaping and outline of the chair which is visibly reclined

The feet of the chair is shaped like a starfish so it can spread out the weight from being sat on and this makes it a ​stable chair​. It is unlikely to topple over due to the extra splayed leg floor mounts.
