What is the overall purpose of the Fuel Policy?

A

To ensure that you can arrive at a minimum of two aerodromes with at least reserve fuel in tanks.

What should you do if a Fuel Check shows that you will arrive at Destination with less than Reserve + Diversion Fuel?

A

Reduce fuel consumption.

With “Maximum Delay NOT known and EAT NOT received” under what circumstances can you continue to destination?

A

If it is possible to reach to reach two aerodromes at which “ landing is assured”.

If < 2 hours, then; two runways can be considered two aerodromes providing account is taken of any likely ATC delay.

If < 6 hours, then; if it’s possible to land at destination with at least RESERVE + 15 minutes holding fuel with - TWO runways, cloud > 2000ft or CIRC + 500ft, viz > 5K

What does “landing assured” mean?

A

The landing could be completed in the event of;

  • any forecast deterioration in the weather
  • any plausible single failure of ground or airborne facilities

A

You can “continue to destination or hold” “regardless of the number of runways” providing that landing is assured with at least RESERVE FUEL at touchdown
