Flight Control Laws Flashcards
1
Q
What are the FIVE Normal Law protections?
A
Load, Pitch Attitude, High AoA, High Speed and Bank Angle.
2
Q
What is the scope of the five Normal Law protections?
A
- Load; +2.5g to -1.0g clean, +2.0g to 0g with F>0.
- Pitch; +30˚ to -15˚ clean, +25˚ to -15˚ with CONF Full.
- High AoA; starts at V-a-prot and if sidestick is released V-a-prot is maintained
- High Speed;
- Bank; 67˚ but if SS released it will return to 33˚.
3
Q
What is available in Alternate Law with reduced protections?
A
- Load protection
X Pitch Attitude protection
X High AoA replaced by LOW SPEED STABILITY
X High Speed replaced by HIGH SPEED STABILITY
X Bank Angle
4
Q
What is available in Alternate Law WITHOUT reduced protections?
A
Load protection only
5
Q
Explain LOW and HIGH Speed Stability.
A
LOW SPEED; active at VSW +5-10kts, nose down pitch input introduced.
HIGH SPEED; active above VMO, nose up pitch input introduced.
6
Q
What is the correct Overspeed recovery technique?
A
Keep A/P engaged, use speedbrakes until below VMO then set lower a lower speed.
