Fuel Flashcards
Max fuel asymmetry in flight with full inner tanks:
1500
Maximum fuel asymmetry in flight with inner tanks 2250:
2250
Maximum fuel asymmetry with inner tanks 4300:
1600
Fuel tank quantities:
Inner - 5435
Outer - 690
Centre - 6476
Max total fuel quantity:
18729
The engine LP fuel valve is closed by either the:
Engine master switch or Engine Fire Push pushbutton
Gravity feeding is not possible from the ——- tank
Centre
The tanks empty in the following sequence:
Centre tank.
Inner tanks, down to 750kg.
Outer tanks, fuel transfers to inner.
The fuel transfer valves open when the inner tank fuel quantity reaches —-kg
750kg, thus allowing the fuel to drain from the outer to the inner tanks. The valves remain latched open and will automatically close at the next refuelling.
The ——— controls the fuel return valve
FADEC
The fuel return valve directs the returning fuel (post IDG cooling) into the:
Outer tank. If the outer tank is already full the fuel overflows to the inner tank via a spill pipe. If centre tank is feeding the system the wing tank will tend to over fill and the system automatically selects the centre tank pump off when the inner tank is full. The wing tank pumps will feed until the level drops by 500kg
The Low Level ECAM Warning will be generated when the wing tank quantity goes below ____kg. This warning is generated independently from the fuel quantity indication of the tank.
750
In auto mode the centre tank pumps stop automatically — minutes after centre tank low level is reached.
5 minutes
Two dashes appear across the last 2 digits if the fuel quantity indicator when:
The FQI is inaccurate
The FOB quantity indicator is boxed amber when either:
Both centre tank pumps fail or are switched off, or
Both transfer valves fail to open when the inner tank is at low level.
