15
Q

How many tanks are in each wing

A

Each wing has 2 tanks, an inboard and outboard. The tanks are interconnected by fuel duct that is gravity fed making the two tanks act as a single reservoir

16
Q

Does the aircraft need electricity to pressure fuel

A

No but is recommended

17
Q

What does the Transfer jet pump do

A

Operate by motive flow. Their purpose is to keep the collector tank at level sufficient to provide a constant source of fuel for the main jet pump and electric boost pumps. When operating the transfer jet pumps increase the usable fuel by taking fuel from the lowest portion of the inboard tank and transferring it into the collector tank. When the transfer jet pumps are not operating usable fuel in corresponding tank is reduced by 79.6 lbs

18
Q

How many filters does the system have

A

2 filters a side

19
Q

What is the maximum fuel the dripless stick will read

A

2238lb

20
Q

Where is fuel for the APU supplied from

A

Right side

21
Q

What powers the jet pumps

A

Venturi

22
Q

When are electric fuel pumps are used

A

Engine start
Cross feed
Main jet pump failure

23
Q

What indicates a loss of motive flow

A

Buy electric boost pumps cycling On and OFF in AUTO with LOW PRESS light ON

24
Q

How is fuel quantity measured

A

Quantity transmitters send signals to the master quantity indicators. This system is capacitate type system
Fuel can also be measured by magnetic dripless measuring stick

25
Q

What happens to fuel totalizer if power is lost or signal failure occurs

A

The display will go blank

26
Q

Where does motive flow get fuel from

A

HMU return

27
Q

What happens when you open cross feed

A

No motiveflow

28
Q

Where does any unused fuel get sent

A

Surge tank

29
Q

The firewall shutoff valve is operated through the

A

Fire extinguisher T-handle
