FUEL Flashcards
ENG VALVE CLOSED (light) and SPAR VALVE CLOSED (light)
Extinguished:
- related engine or spar valve shutoff valve is open
Illuminated (blue):
- bright - related engine or spar shutoff valve is in transit, or valve position and engine start lever or engine fire switch disagree
- dim - related engine or spar fuel shutoff valve is closed.
VALVE OPEN (light)
extinguished: crossfeed valve is closed
Illuminated (blue)
- bright - crossfeed valve is in transit, or valve position and CROSSFEED selector disagree
- dim - crossfeed valve is open
FILTER BYPASS (light)
Extinguished - fuel filter operating normally
Illuminated (amber)
- impending fuel filter bypass due to a contaminated filter
CROSSFEED Selector
Controls fuel crossfeed valve
Closed: isolates engine NO.1 and NO.2 fuel feed lines
Open: connects NO.1 and NO.2 fuel feed lines
Center tank FUEL PUMP LOW PRESSURE (lights)
Illuminated (amber): Fuel pump output pressure is low and FUEL PUP switch is ON
NOTE: With the center fuel pump switches ON, continuous illumination of one LOW PRESSURE light for 10 seconds illuminates MASTER CAUTION and FUEL system annunciator lights
Does the battery need to be on to fuel the airplane?
Yes
What tanks burn fuel first?
center, then respective main tanks
What power are the fuel tank fuel pumps?
AC
Which pumps produce higher pressure? main or center
center
How is the fuel crossfeed valve powered?
DC motor operated off the battery bus
Spar fuel shutoff valves are powered how?
DC motor operated off the hot battery bus
The engine fuel shutoff valves are fuel (BLANK), (blank) controlled valves powered from the (blank) bus
actuated, solenoid, battery
With the NO.1 FWD fuel pump on, when does the center tank fuel scavenge jet pump operate?
Fuel transfer begins when main tank No.1 quantity is about one-half
The fuel temperature sensor uses what power?
AC
When does the APU fuel boost pump shut off?
shuts off automatically when the AC fuel pump pressurizes the fuel manifold
