Social psychological theory that argues that anger, hostility and even voilence are always th eoutcome when we are prevented from achieving our goals. Frustration inevitably leads to anger.

What is meant by a Cathartic release ?
A
The release of strong eemotions such as anger, which has been holding back or avoiding.

How does cathartic release link to the psychodynamic Id ?
A
If our attemt to achieve a goal is blocked by an external factor, we experience frustration. Id may act as a evil desire to release anger.
