- classical liberals such as Locke- focused on three fundamental rights- negative freedoms in place where laws only in place to prevent these being taken away
- modern liberals such as Friedan and Rawls- build on rights- Friedan getting rid of laws which discriminate against women/ minorities. + Rawls veil of ignorance- remove economic impediments. (more positive).
