STARTING ENGINE CHECK

A

Starting Engine Check

EPU - On

Battery - On - How do you read? (Loud and Clear) - Loud and clear back

Generator - On

Attitude indicators - Erect

Beacon light - On

Bright/Dim switch - As required

Lights - Test - five plus six - two / three left

Fuel quantity - XX indicated - YY in the book - as expected/not as expected

Fuel selector - Left on

Prop. control - High RPM

Throttle - Open one quart

Oil temperature, check - Priming necessary / not necessary

  • Mixture - Rich
  • Auxiliary fuel pump - On
  • Fuel flow - Steady
  • Auxiliary fuel pump - Off

Mixture - Cut off

Clearence - Checked

Left magneto - On

Starter button - Press

Mixture - Rich

Right magneto - On

Throttle - Adjust 1200 RPM

Oil pressure - Above 25 psi

Channel one eight - Three seven three decimal five zero zero, read.

Channel one three - Two three five decimal zero five zero, read.

ADF - On, ADF in, three six nine set

DME - On, freq. selected, one zero eight decimal one five set

VHF2, Squelch - On

Volume - Up

Test - One eight eight decimal eight eight One two zero decimal five seven set.

GPS - Database valid, enter, enter.

VHF1 - Volume up, one two one decimal five zero zero, set

IFF/SIF, mode

one two three and charlie - On

Mode one - One one

Mode three - X X X X

Master switch - Standby

Altimeters - Set

Airspeed and VVI - Reads zero

Chocks and cover - Removed

Controls - Unlocked

Taxi light - On
