Frame of reference elements (VAB)
Values = Essential to happiness Attitudes = Reflects feelings & opinions about something/someone Beliefs = Anything believed conistently & over period of time.

Direction = Positive/negative Intensity = How positive/negative
Types of belief
Central belief = Strongly connected to values
Peripheral belief = Minor to change
Perceptions
Experiencing & making sense of world through frame of reference
Form perception when:
Physically observe stimuli
Interpret observation
Subjectivity of perceptions influence by:
PERCEPTUAL FILTERS = Limits scope of observation OR distorts interpretation (Physiological - Limits observation) OR (Psychological - Limits interp).
SELECTIVE ATTENTION & PERCEPTION =
Selective attention = Paying attention to some stimuli
Selective perception = Interpreting some stimuli or being bias
PERCEPTUAL PREDISPOSITIONS = Perceive situations in way that’s in line with filters in frame of reference

SELF-CONCEPT = Beliefs about who you are & what you like
SELF-ESTEEM = Attitude towards self
SELF-FULFILLING PROPHECIES = Expectations of situation lead you to behave in ways that produce expected results
