Where does the Chinese Parliament meet?
In Beijing.
Who is allowed to be elected to parliament?
Only CCP members.
How often are there elections?
Every four years.
Is anyone but the CCP allowed to govern China?
No.
The CCP is the largest political party in the world. How many members are there?
70 million members.
How are people persuaded to join the CCP?
It is heavily encouraged.
What do the CCP do that is a huge problem?
They use corrupt methods to stay in power.
What year was it made illegal to discuss views that do not agree with the CCP running the country?

Who has complete control over the politics in China?
The government.
How do the government deal with threats to the stability of the country?
Through use of force. There is imprisonment of political opponents.
What happens to journalists that criticise the government?
They are imprisoned.
What is the problem for the Chinese people as a result of the CCP being in complete power?
Their opportunities to have a meaningful say of the running of the country or to vote is limited.
What are the advantages to being a CCP member?
- all power rets in the elite CCP members
- they can have a meaningful say
- they can be elected
- they have a major say
What do the government see criticism as and why?
They see it as a threat because they want complete power. They do not want opponents or risk getting their power taken off them.
