urological emergency - nec fasc of perineum & external genitalia

Risk factors?
A
- Immunocompromised
- T2DM
- IVDU
- malnourished (alcohol excess, obesity)

Ix?
A
- as per sepsis 6
- O/E: erythema, oedema, necrotic skin, crepitus on palpation
- must do DRE!

Mx?
A
- ABCDE + Sepsis 6
- NBM, fluid resus, broad spectrum Abx
- Prep for theatre - surgical debridement
