    • urethral stricture
    • constipation
  • inflammatory
    • balanitis, prostatitis, vulvovaginitis
    • sepsis
  • drugs
    • anticholinergics
    • alcohol
    • spinal /epidural
    • opioids
    • alpha agonists, CCBs
  • neurogenic
    • CES
    • MS

  • Bloods
    • FBC, U&E, PSA
  • Imaging
    • if U&E abnormal –> USS KUB (hydronephrosis)
    • CT (abdo/pelvic mass) / MRI head for neuro cause
