- Checks and Balances
- Legislative Branch = Makes the laws
- Executive Branch = Enforces the laws
- Judicial Branch = Interprets the laws
- The People = Must stay knowledgeable on government issues and participate in government
- His writings, along with Locke, inspired James Madison in creating the US Constitution
