  • Government agreed to close the Bozeman Trail and army forts on Indian territory.

  • Whites were angered that they couldn’t go onto Indian land.

How did the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868 lead to the Great Sioux war?

A

Because the whites were angry they were prohibited to go onto Indian land and look for gold in the Black hills. However, General Custer broke the Treaty by searching for gold in the BH in 1876.
