A

Trees purify water, cycle nutrients, and stablize soil. They also store carbon and produces oxygen for us to breathe. And acts as a habitat for wildlife and animals.

Juevenille spacing is when you cut selected trees that are inhibiting the growth of other trees.

Explain the difference between a productive forest and an unproductive forest.

A

Productive forests are forest that can be harvested profitably. So you can make money from harvesting and cutting down trees. Whereas, unproductive forests are forests where you cant harvest trees profitablly.

Silviculture is the study of breeding, developing, and cultivating trees.

Which method of harvesting trees is the most environmentally destructive and explain why?

A

Clearcutting is the worst method of harvesting for the environment. This method involves of cutting down all the trees within a designated area, leaving no trees behind. This is bad because its an immediate loss of habitat for animals, and the carbon gets released back into the air.
