What is a dorsal foot ganglia?
A cyst arises from a joint or tendon sheath
may be idiopathic or related to arthritis or underlying tendon pathology
What are the symptoms of a Ganglion cyst?
Pain from shoe pressure +/- the underlying problem
+ a visible cyst
How do we treat a dorsal foot ganglia?
Non-operatively with aspiration or “family Bible” technique
Operatively with surgical excision

What are the subtypes of midfoot arthritis?
- Osteo
- Post-traumatic
- Rheumatoid
How do we treat midfoot arthritis?
Activity modification
Shoewear modification
Orthotics
X-ray guided injection
Operative fusion of the joint
Define Plantar Fibromatosis
Progressive thickening of the feet’s fascia/connective tissue
Its usually asymptomatic unless very large or on a weight-bearing area
How do you treat plantar fibromatosis?
Non-operative use Shoewear modification and orthotics to avoid pressure
RT and/or Surgical excision
