A
Hallux Valgus - a bony lump created by a deformity at the MTP at the base of the big toe.

- 1st Metatarsal becomes angled medially.
- Hallux angled laterally.
- MTP joint is inflamed and enlarged.

Weight-Bearing X-Rays (Assess Extent of Deformity).

A
- Conservative : Wide Comfortable Shoes and Analgesia and Bunion Pads.
- Definitive : Surgery - realign bones and correct deformity.

Prognosis of Bunions.
A
Additional stress on the joint over time can result in osteoarthritis.
