Damage, Swelling, Inflammation and Reduced Functioning in the Achilles Tendon.

What are the 2 Types of Achilles Tendinopathy?
A
- Insertion Tendinopathy (within 2cm of Insertion Point on Calcaneus).
- Mid-Portion Tendinopathy (2-6cm above Insertion Point).

- Connects Calf Muscles (Gastrocnemius and Soles) to Heel.

- Inflammatory Conditions.
- Diabetes.
- Raised Cholesterol (Tendon Xanthomata)

- Clinical Diagnosis.

- Rest.
- Ice.
- Physiotherapy.
- Analgesia.
- Orthotics e.g. Insoles.
- Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy.
- Surgery : Remove Nodules and Adhesions.
