what is a balanced diet
A balanced diet contains the right amount of each of the six types[or constituents] of food
What are the six constituents of a balanced diet
- carbohydrates
- fats
- proteins
- vitamins
- minerals
- water
What consequences does it have to not have a balanced diet
- people eat too many high-energy foods and may become overweight.
- If they do not get enough energy in their diet they may be tired and slow.
- Lack of iron may result in a person being pale and tired, a condition called anemia
What is the food pyramid [what are the five groups]
The food we eat can be into the following five groups
- cereals,bread and potatoes
- Fruit and vegetables
- dairy product
- meat and fish
- other types of food
What amount of food different people based on what ?
*age[young people need more food than older people}
*gender[males need more food than females]
*activity levels[more active people need more food than inactive people]
