Q

SPEEDBRAKES EXT caution light on when? (2)

A

Flaps in landing position (25/30) or
Captain’s RA is at/or 800ft
Openskies limitation is 1000ft AGL
caution inhibited below 15ft RA

Q

if L HYD PRESS lost, why don’t we arm the speedbrakes in auto?

A

HYD press to the gear truck tilt actuators is lost. there is no way to know if and when the truck will sense a no tilt condition which would cause an auto-deployment and that would compromise safety when in flight

Q

When does the speedbrakes automatically deploy during RTO? (4)

A

Hyd press to both truck tilt actuators and
LG on the ground (no tilt sense) and
both thrust lever at idle and
either reverse thrust lever moved reverse idle
openskies: RTO, speedbrake in manual before reverse

Q

What does rudder ratio does?

A

rudder ratio dampens pilots inputs to the rudder

30° up to 127Kts to 3.5° at 410Kts

Q

RUDDER RATIO light means?

A

above 160Kts: avoid large or abrupt rudder inputs
if normal L hyd press: -XWIND 15Kts
-do not autoland

16
Q

The flight control shutoff switches control hydraulic power to? (3)

A

stabilizer, elevators and rudder

17
Q

Which hydraulic system powers the rudder ratio changer?

A

Left
the ratio changer receives air data computer airspeed inputs and provides control signals to an actuator powered by the left hydraulic system

18
Q

Automatic stabilizer trim uses?

A

One trim control module at half electric or alternate trim rate

19
Q

When multiple AP are engaged, electric trimming is?

A

Inhibited

on single AP, electric trimming causes AP to disengage

20
Q

Speedbrakes ARMED. What is NOT required for auto extension on landing?

A

Reverse thrust lever raised to its interlock stop
auto extension requires hydraulic pressure to both lg truck tilt actuators, both truck tilt sensors detect no-tilt and both thrust levers at idle.
speedbrake will also extend automatically whenever these 3 conditions occur and either reverse thrust lever is raised to its interlock stop and the speedbrake lever does not need to be ARMED

21
Q

When do slats normally move from the TO to the landing position?

A

when the flap lever is moved to position 25

22
Q

When do slats move from the TO to the landing position in ALTN?

A

When flaps 20 is selected using the alternate selector switch

23
Q

When is FLAP LD RELIEF advisory message is displayed?

A

Flap load relief system fails to operate when required

24
Q

How many hydraulic actuators are used for each aileron?

A

2
rotating either control wheel sends a signal to the aileron hydraulic actuators.
2 actuators are used for each aileron

25
Pressing either alternate flaps switch?
Shuts off hydraulic power to the flap and slat drive systems
26
a RUDDER RATIO advisory message apperas on EICAS?
the L hydraulic system actuator is automatically depressurized
27
What powers the elevator feel systems?
Center and Right hydraulics | mechanical springs provide feel following a loss of center and right hudraulic
28
How many spoiler panels are there on each upper wing surface?
6
29
During flaps/slats alternate operation, which protection is provided?
Slat asymmetry protection only
30
the amber TRAILING EDGE light illuminated indicates?
Flap position disagree, or flap asymmetry, or flap load relief failure
31
Flap maneuvering speeds allow for?
25 degrees bank plus additional 15 degree bank safety factor before initial buffet is encountered
