FLIGHT CONTROLS Flashcards
What power the yaw dampers?
L and C hydraulics
where does the yaw dampers takes is inputs from? (2)
both ADCs and
all 3 IRUs
When is the speedbrakes is armed for landing? (3)
Hyd press to both truck tilt actuators and
LG on the ground (no tilt sense) and
both thrust levers at idle
SPEEDBRAKES EXT caution light on when? (2)
Flaps in landing position (25/30) or
Captain’s RA is at/or 800ft
Openskies limitation is 1000ft AGL
caution inhibited below 15ft RA
if L HYD PRESS lost, why don’t we arm the speedbrakes in auto?
HYD press to the gear truck tilt actuators is lost. there is no way to know if and when the truck will sense a no tilt condition which would cause an auto-deployment and that would compromise safety when in flight
When does the speedbrakes automatically deploy during RTO? (4)
Hyd press to both truck tilt actuators and
LG on the ground (no tilt sense) and
both thrust lever at idle and
either reverse thrust lever moved reverse idle
openskies: RTO, speedbrake in manual before reverse
What does rudder ratio does?
rudder ratio dampens pilots inputs to the rudder
30° up to 127Kts to 3.5° at 410Kts
components of the rudder ratio?
use both ADCs
2 rudder ratio changer modules
a single actuator (L hyd system)
RUDDER RATIO light means?
above 160Kts: avoid large or abrupt rudder inputs
if normal L hyd press: -XWIND 15Kts
-do not autoland
AP up to 180ft ARTE
What system power the stabilizer trim?
Center and Right Hyd system
stabilizer trim on AP?
AP uses only 1 trim module
trimming at half the manual trim rate
STAB TRIM lights means?
one or more trim brakes has failed to release
SPOILERS light means?
one or more spoiler pairs are inoperative
The amber LEADING EDGE light illuminated indicates?
Slat position disagree, or
slat assymmetry
When is the flap load relief system armed?
When flaps 30 has been selected with the flap lever
