ANTI-ICE Flashcards
What surfaces are anti-iced by the wing anti-ice systems?
three mid-wing Leading Edge Slats on each wing, OUTER part of the wng
Engine Anti-ice ON, what happen (3)?
The Engine Idle setting is increased.
The Maximum EPR limit is reduced. Note: The adjustment is based on the position of the Switch, not the position of the valve.
For flame-out prevention from ice ingestion, Engine Ignition is automatically activated when the Engine Anti-Ice Switch is turned on, provided the Engine Start Selector is in AUTO.
When is probe heat automatically turned ON?
whenever the engines are running
How many total air temperature probes are there?
1 (Right side only)
When does the window heat inoperative light illuminate?
illuminates for an overheat or
when the switch is OFF or
a system fault or
a system test
When the engine AI switch is ON, what happen to the valve
Selected engine AI valve signaled Open
what does the wing AI test do?
the test switch signal bypasses the wing AI switch and opens the valves if air pressure is available.
A timed delay closes the valves to protect the wing structure
what protection does the windshields and side windows have?
they have overheat protection
only the windshields are electrically heated for anti-icing
