Flight Controls Flashcards
In the event of a failure of A and B hydraulics systems how are primary flight controls operated?
Manual reversion for Ailerons and Elevators with Rudder by Standby Hydraulics
If the roll control system becomes jammed how can roll control be maintained?
FO can maintain through through spoilers and Captain through ailerons by overcoming Aileron Transfer Mechanism
If the alternate flap system has been used to extend the flaps to F5, what will be the position of the leading edge slats
Fully Extended. Can’t be retracted.
Following a landing or an RTO, if speed brakes have been raised how can they be retractred?
Advancing either thrust lever or manually lowered the speed brake lever.
What effect will raising the speed brakes have on roll rates?
Roll rates will increase
If the aileron trim switches are operated with the autopilot engaged, what will the effect be?
The autopilot will overcome the trim input and hold the aircraft track/heading
What will be the effect of moving the Stab Trim Override switch on the rear of the AFT Electronics Panel to the OVERRIDE position?
It will bypass the control column trim cutout switch and restore power to the trim switches
Which hydraulic system powers the ground spoilers?
Hydraulic system A
In flight speed brake lever should not be extended beyond?
Flight detent
On SFP (W.1) modified aircraft when would the LE FLAP TRANSIT light extinguish when the alternate flap switch is selected to down position?
When the flaps reach 15 degrees
On Non-SFP (W) aircraft when would the LE FLAP TRANSIT light extinguish when the alternate flap switch is selected to down position?
When the flaps reach 10 degrees
What feedback is there on the controls in the flightdeck?
Spring feel on rudder and ailerons, and Q-Feel (artifical)
Purpose of main rudder PCU Force Fight Monitor?
It detects opposing pressure between A+B hydraulic systems that may occur if jammes or disconnected
On SFP (W.1) modified aircraft what position would the LE Slats be on a Flap 15 takeoff
Extend (half) with autoslat available
What does selecting OFF on the FLT CONTROL switch achieve?
It closes the flight control shut off valve isolating ailerons, elevators and rudder from the associated hydraulic system
