Used for heart failure and slows heart rate. You should check the pulse. The parameters for giving this drug is a HR of 60 and BP of 90. Helps to improve the squeeze of the heart.
Lanoxin
An anticoagulant that is given subcutaneously. This is a form of heparin
Lovenox
An anticoagulant that also goes by the name Warfarin. You should always monitor the PT/INR with this. The anecdote is vitamin K
Coumadin
These two anticoagulant drugs are given for A-fib and are useful as there is not routine monitoring. You would use these in venous clotting issues.
Dabigatran Etexilate and Apixaban
An over the counter antiplatelet drug given to cardiac patients. Usually given in 81 mg does. Given for arterial blockages (heart attacks, strokes)
Aspirin
An antihypertensive med given for tachycardia as it slows the heart rate
Metoprolol
An ACE inhibitor for BP. Does not affect the heart rate
Lisinopril
An antianginal drug used for vasodilation. Can be given sublingual, transdermal, IV, or spray. You give this in 3 does (1 does every 5 min). If you give a 3rd dose, the patient must go to the ER. Can cause headache and hypotension
Nitroglycerin
A potassium losing loop diuretic
Furosemide
A potassium saving diuretic that could cause hyperkalemia
Aldactone
An electrolyte replacement given PO or IV. This cannot be given faster than 10 mEq/hr. The oral version of this electrolyte has to be dissolved, not crushed.

An antiplatelet that is known as super aspirin
Clopidogrel
The only form of insulin given IV
Regular
