How many halon bottles are connected to the fire protection system?
- Two for engines. 1 for APU. 2 for aft and forward cargo compartments. One smaller bottle for the lav. Located in the waste paper bin.
How many portable fire extinguishers are there? And where are they located?
- 3 in the cabin and 1 in the flight deck.
When pressing the guarded ENG FIRE switchlight, what actions take place?
BIGHAF Bleed air (PRSOV) is closed Ignition igniters are inhibited Generator for engine is disconnected Hydraulic SOV is closed Arm - Engine fire bottles are armed F Fuel - the engine fuel shutoff valve is closed
When pressing the APU FIRE switchlight, what takes place?
GASPL Generator goes offline APU fire bottle is armed Shut off valve (SOV) is closed Pump - Fuel pump turns off Load control valve (LCV) closes
When pressing the fire detection firex test button, which lights will illuminate?
7 red lights. 5 green lights Red Lights: LH ENG FIRE PUSH RH ENG FIRE PUSH APU FIRE PUSH Left MASTER WARNING Right MASTER WARNING FWD CARGO SMOKE PUSH AFT CARGO SMOKE PUSH

How does the LAV fire extinguisher work?
Heat from a fire will burn through the heat sensitive plug discharging the halon into the trash bin.
If there a way to test the smoke detector in the LAV?
Yes, a pushbutton is located on the detector and a warning message will display on ED1
Will the APU shutdown automatically if there is a fire?
Yes
Will the APU fire bottle fire automatically in flight?
No
How many engine fire detection loops are there?
