ALRMF
Alarm Activation/no fire - inc all alarm activations (with the exception of carbon monoxide detector alarm code as PSFIR)
IF CALLER IS AT ACTUAL RESIDENCE OR BUSINESS BE SURE TO ASK IF ANY SMOKE OR FIRE IS VISIBLD
AIR
Aircraft Down - inc all aircraft type emergencies (landing gear problems, unknown problems, in-flight emergencies with potential crash and actual crash)
BRUSH
Brush Fire - inc all woods, grass, trees, field fires and fires of same nature, or out on arrival, with the exception of brush fires in a median strip (coded as MULCH)
CHMNY
Chimney Fire - inc fires that are contained completely within a chimney and does not cause damage to structure. If damage occurs to structure, this should be coded as structure fire
CLPSE
Structure Collapse - incidents where structures/buildings have partially or totally collapsed with the possibility of injury or trapped victims inside the structure
CONFN
Confined Space Rescue - confined areas not intended for human occupancy, with limited means of entry and exit, potential for contaminated atmosphere, or engulfment; these situations may require special forms of breathing apparatus, explosion proof lightning, atmospheric monitoring and an entry permit to rescue or recover victims
DETEC
Smoke Alarm Installation - field initiated call type to be used anytime a unit installs/replaces a smoke alarm
ELVRS
Situation requiring access to a victim unable to get down or trapped in an elevated area (radio tower, power line tower, roof of a building less than 4 stories (40 <), tall trees, water tank; specialized rigging is needed to access and remove victim(s)
ELVRSH
Situations requiring access to a victim unable to get down or trapped in an elevated area (radio tower, power line tower, roof 4+ stories (40+ feet) tall trees, water tank; specialized rigging is needed to access and remove victim(s)
FMTAD
Mutual Aid - inc fire type mutual aid calls outside the county

Flammable Liquid Spill - flammable liquid spill in a structure of less than 99 gallons
Flammable Liquid spill outside between 1-20 gallons

FHZCN
Hazardous Condition/Material Unknown - inc standby for downed power lines, transformers, lightning strikes w no fire, hazard control (not involving MVA) etc. Inc all calls where hazardous materials not leaking or outside natural gas leaks
GASIN
Interior Gas Leak - inc calls where there is a gas leak in the interior of a building; smell of natural gas or gasoline
HZMTC
Hazardous Material Leak - or spill with a known chemical release in industry, business, commercial type occupancies, or transportation
HZMTR
Hazardous Material Leak or Spill Ina residence involving household chemicals
ILBNF
Illegal Burning - inc burnings that are being controlled (attended - however citizen is unable to extinguish on their own and PD requests fire to respond; or unattended - all unattended burns require the response of a fire unit)
JURIS
Call taken and relayed to another Jurisdiction that message taker is unable to transfer
LIFT
Non-EMS lift assist; after verifying no medical condition is present; no injuries and no illness
MACH
Machinery Entrapment - incidents where people are trapped in commercial, industrial, construction or farm machinery, under a vehicle, under a tree, which may require specialized stabilization, lifting and manipulation; these incidents may also require the specialized cutting, distorting and/or disassembly of equipment components to rescue or recover a victim
MEDFR
Medical Fire - this code will be used when a fire unit responds to man an ambulance at a station or when another jurisdiction requests EMS/ALS assistance from one of Chesterfield’s stations (to include meeting at the station or another designated location)
MULCH
Mulch fires - inc all mulch fires; as well as grass, brush fires in the median strip
MVAFR
Medical MVA- inc all motor vehicle accident where only a fire unit handles and they have medical issues involved (fire unit runs up on the call and they advise they have minor injuries or patient refusals and no ambulance is needed)
MVAHZ
Vehicle Accident - hazard control for a motor vehicle accident only
PSFIR
Public Service - inc water shut off, tree removal from roadway, etc (Engine or Truck may be recommended to handle); carbon monoxide detector activation reported by alarm company or residents; also includes “safe place” situations
RFIRE
Reduced Structure - inc all structure fires where a reduced assignment is warranted
SBRSH
Serious Brush Fire - inc all woods, grass, trees, field fires and fire of same nature, spreading fast and over a large area. This will be Dispatcher discretion based on descriptors provided by the caller. Will also be used in place of BRUSH when conditions warrant and is initiated by the FD Operations Deputy, Operations Division Chief, or Shift Commander
SMOKE
Smoke investigation - inc all calls where smoke or smell are present (outside only) and fits not other category
SPFIR
Special (fire only) - inc any fire not classified in other sections (telephone poles, electrical poles, ports-johns, etc)
STFIR
Structure fire
STRND
Stranded Boat - used for all stranded boats
TRASH
Trash/Dumpster Fire - inc trash and dumpsters; inc all yard storage, fences, etc
TREE
Tree down - used by the ECO during storms and only when instructed by the Supervisor to start using. Authority to use this code come from the Operations Deputy, Operations Division Chief, Shift Commander or ECC Supervisor
TRMA
Tech Rescue Mutual Aid - used on any Tech Rescue mutual aid call
TRNCH
Trench/Earth Collapse - incidents where trench or excavations have collapsed or underground construction requires special sheeting and shoring operations
VFIRE
Vehicle fire - inc any vehicle fire outside of a structure or vehicle fires reported out
WTABV
Water/Ice Recovery- any situation where persons visible and trapped or stranded in water or on an ice covered lake, pond, river or pool
WTBEL
Dive Team/Underwater Rescue - inc all five team calls where persons are trapped or possibly drown and are possibly below the water surface
WTREC
Dive Team Recovery - inc all recovery where there is no emergency rescue involved
WTMAD
Mutual aid water rescue request
XHEAT
Excessive Heat - inc calls where there is no evidence of flame production, but there is evidence of melting or excessive heat; may use XHEAT as disposition code for calls originally entered as VFIRE if only evidence of melting or excessive heat
