- Napoleon had to maintain a high-level of taxation because of the cost of war
- in 1807 Napoleon’s officials began drawing up a new cadastre to measure the value of land in order to calculate the land tax this may tax collection Farah and made sure that farmers were tax correctly on the land that they increased

Bank of France
A
- in January 1800 Napoleon established the bank of France, its main purpose was to produce and control and national currency of gold and silver coins. Its monetary control and responsible behaviour were a considerable boost to the French economy and by controlling the sale of government bonds. It also insured that Napoleon could raise loans at reasonable interest by guarantee in the repayments. From 1808, sub branches were set up in other towns where trade was grown and more cash fluidity was needed
