Sheeds proglottids Eggs consumed by herbivore Humans infected by eating raw/rare meat Not harmful usually stays localized in intestines.
Taenia saginata
Found in shellfish when eaten raw: Scallops, oysters Nausea, diarrhea last few days Usually self limiting
Vibrio parahemolyticus
Pathogenic ID50= 100-200 Has toxin causing dysentery- attaches and rearranges the actin in microvilli

Not very common cause of intestinal problems Gives patient diarrhea Endospores found in the meat. ALSO #1 cause of leg/foot amputations Has necrotic toxin turns skin black
Clostridium perfringens Causes- Disease: Gas gangrene
Similar to Rotavirus. Has very low infectious dose (10-20) Causes vomiting, diarrhea
Norwalk or Norovirus
RNA Virus: May get from food, water, causes cancer. Cant be cured.
Hepatitis C
Pathogenic Handles the Low pH of stomach. Humans are a reservoir.

Found in shell fish Gives the patient Rice stools Exotoxin- activates cAMP, lose 1 litter of water/ hour give chocolate, salt
